Here is an idea for a menu of what you can feed your family for $2, of coarse you may want to do something different, but we wanted to put this up to get some ideas flowing. Bottom line, it is possible (just barely) not matter where you live to feed your family on this little. Here in Ethiopia like so many other places around the world, food prices are climbing at nearly 50% per year, and yet wages are not… It’s a struggle but one that billions each day must face.
1 Cup Oatmeal (cooked)
1/2 Cup Milk
1 Banana or 1 Cup of Coffee
Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich
(2 Slices of Bread – 1 Tb PB – 2 ts Jelly)
1 Cup of Beans (cooked)
1 Cup of Rice (cooked)
Drink only water from the faucet.
